Casting our vote for our city

At trampoline we’re always looking for interesting and worthy ways to put our skills to work in the community. So when Mike Hachey from Egg Films approached us with a great idea, we couldn’t say no. Mike raised the concern that, with the Halifax municipal election happening just 4 days after the federal election, it could get lost in the shuffle. Voter turnout for the election is low to begin with (especially with the younger demographic), so we started talking about ways we could urge people to get engaged, embrace their right to get involved, and, quite simply, get out and vote. Once Fusion Halifax—a local organization serving as the voice of young professionals in the city—caught wind that we were planning something, they wanted in. Within just days of this conversation, we had a finished radio spot, and a TV spot and newspaper ad in the works. We at Trampoline wrote the spot, Hatch (Egg’s post production studio) produced it, local celebrity John Dunsworth donated his vocal talents, and Fusion Halifax is sponsoring the message and getting it to air. Take a listen. We’re all quite proud of the final product, and of the way the local industry all pulled together to pull off such an important piece of work.
