Larry Bootland
One highlight of my week is our Thursday get together with friends. A chance to catch up, have a laugh and make plans for the weekend. Before moving to Halifax, our locale of choice was George’s on 17th in Calgary. I don’t consider myself a connoisseur of the domestic fowl, but I have been known to fill a few bone buckets.
At George’s the choice was limited to three flavours, but the wings were meaty and fifteen cents a piece. Of course, that was several years ago when patrons could still fill the bar with cigarette smoke.
Thankfully smoking is no longer permitted and our mid-week rendezvous continues at Bubba Rays. With around 70 flavours there is no shortage of wings to sample. My preference: dry spicy lemon. Perfectly paired with a bucket of Canadian.
With all the great choices in Halifax you won’t have a problem finding a great wing; besides it’s really about getting together with friends.
