Get up where???

Get Up ThereNo more denying it – it’s winter time. As your cheeks turn pink from the brisk north winds and the snow gently falls on the sidewalk, visions of colorectal screenings appear. Not making the connection?? It is time to start thinking about Get Up There 2012. Get Up There is a public awareness movement, fundraiser and event in support of colorectal cancer that aims to reduce the stigma associated with colorectal screening.

According to the latest Canadian Cancer Society statistics, in 2011, an estimated 22,200 Canadians will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer and 8,900 will die of the disease. Overall, colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of death from cancer in men and women combined. In Nova Scotia, an estimated 470 men and 360 women will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer this year.

Beginning at sunrise on March 2, Get Up There participants will spend until sundown (or some part of the day) hiking or snowshoeing up to the top of Wentworth Mountain. After warming up in the hut, they will ski, snowboard, snowshoe or hike back down, an activity tackled in teams in a relay format with each descent considered a lap.

Think you can beat team Trampoline?? Get Up There is a great bonding activity for your office or family and just a great day in the outdoors with your friends. So why not get involved?

Expect only to be delighted

SJDM-Urban-Vibe-ad-HER-HI Just last week we finished polishing and finessing the last of a series of beautiful television spots for Saint John Destination Marketing. These four commercials are also the crowning touch to an entire multimedia campaign we recently help create, including print, online, and a unique social media initiative. The message these ads are all proudly linked with is, “Expect only to be delighted”. What a wonderful positioning for a city—a promise to the visitor that they will discover memories and experiences that they never saw coming. After all, what is the traveller’s headspace, when leaving home, if not, “I hope to stumble upon things that delight me”? Saint John is uniquely positioned to deliver on this message, since the city itself has grown up and developed lately into such a stunning place—a celebration of contemporary urbanity and the natural wonders of the [...]

Share the Passion

Picture 24Charm Diamond Centres’ new campaign revolves around sharing the passion –– a passion for quality diamonds, a passion for their craft, and sharing in your passion for your loved ones. The brief to Trampoline was to produce a television spot that captured this sentiment. I was asked to attend the filming of the commercial with my camera ready to capture the “making of” for a behind the scenes take. Photography has been my passion of late and I was only too happy to get in on the action. [...]

Social Media Interns Wanted

help

It’s the summer time. The bosses are away and we need interns to make us look busy. While you’re here, we may as well get the most out of you.

We know that if you were born after the ‘80s, you are already the leader of your own “social network.” Tell us in 140 characters or less (and make ‘I’ as few of them as possible) how you could wield your social media knowledge to help our clients build their businesses and strengthen their brands.

The work term will start Monday, August 1 and run for at least three months. We’ll pay you what you’re worth – and that will be for us to decide. Get us your digital response no later than Monday, July 25 by tweeting your answer to @trampolinebrand. We’ll take as many good people as we can find.

Sincerely, Trampoline

Trampoline bouncing to barrington street

BarringtonOn June 1, Trampoline Branding will be moving to the second floor of 1559 Barrington Street. Now officially declared a heritage district, Trampoline Branding is proud to be a part of the revitalization of this historically significant thoroughfare.

For years, the second floor was home to Carsand-Mosher’s photo processing center – artistic visions, intimate moments and simple expressions of silliness were all once revealed here. Today, inspiration continues to radiate from the walls where Halifax’s memories were once illuminated. With this move, our goal is to honour the artistic spirit that was originally ignited in this space and continue to evoke emotions with our own creative pursuits. [...]

While Trampoline’s website is quietly undergoing a facelift and our talent roster continues to grow, updated profile pictures were also on the menu.

How to make it easy? Find a blank wall, set up a stool and a tripod, and file everyone through like hoards of school children. How to make the experience more fun? Take it outside and release your team on the streets. [...]

In the MIXX

This week, the Tramps had the pleasure of attending IAB Canada’s MIXX Canada 2011 Half-Day Roadshow here in Halifax. Covering the latest research and trends in digital marketing across display, search, video, mobile marketing and social media, the roadshow offered an in-depth look into how many Canadian companies are harnessing the power of digital media and the social web to increase the reach and influence of their brands. We’ve been moving consumers for years. Now we’ve done it ourselves.

tpicGetting the attention of a consumer, engaging them on an emotional level, and then stirring them to act is, it turns out, only slightly more challenging than moving an entire agency up a hill.

The Brewery Market was an incredible space. But Trampoline has found a new, larger home on Barrington Street at Blowers—on the second floor of the old Carsand Mosher Building. The fresh energy that comes with change is one of the perks of our new surroundings. Being a part of the Barrington Street Historic District is equally exciting for an agency that values community. Barrington exudes urban vibrancy, and the revitalization that’s currently taking place is bringing new life to Halifax’s downtown core.

How appropriate that an agency with an unusually forward-thinking philosophy on branding has landed in a part of the city that has such a promising future.

Trampoline is fast becoming the region’s expert in integrated, effective, and unexpected communications because of our contemporary approach. We aren’t caught up in pointless distinctions between “advertising” and “social media”, “traditional” and  “digital”. All of these add up to communications. Our 15 communications professionals distinctively weave all these threads together to create and strengthen social communities and generate positive awareness that ultimately leads to stronger brands.

As yet more Halifax businesses and citizens converge on the central lifeline that is Barrington Street, Trampoline too continues to evolve. Because our incomparable clients demand it. Because modern brands depend on it. Because today’s consumers necessitate it.

Together in the dark: social media sparks a blackout

EARTH HOUR: SATURDAY, MARCH 26, 8:30 p.m.

As the lights go out around the world this Saturday for Earth Hour, let the light from your mobile lead the way.

Earth Hour is an initiative proposed by the World Wildlife Fund to compel both individuals and businesses to turn off their lights for one hour in order to take a stand against climate change. First started in Sydney, Australia in 2007, the campaign is now a globally recognized movement. [...]
